We Need More Napkins

I eat, drink, cook and pour gnarly things, then share with the world.

SOBO is a good way to drop a couple hundred bucks in Tofino, if you’re so lucky. This was a really nice meal shared with family, so I got to really go all out.

A broiled oyster with salmon bacon and a very rich cream sauce. I can’t even put to words the ecstasy of eating this dish. Among the most exciting things I’ve ever put in my mouth.

Prawn lettuce wraps. Another mind-blowing flavour explosion, perhaps even more so because it was so unexpected, as lettuce wraps can often be on the bland side. Not this one, it was so complex in flavour and texture, while still remaining light and fresh. I never in a million years would have thought that a creamy house-made blue cheese sauce would pair with a spicy citrus prawn wrap. But oh lord, it does.

Scallops with a fried risotto cake, topped with a dollup of goat’s cheese. Very tasty, but really overshadowed by the first two.
